James W. Eiche

March 17, 1935 — January 23, 2021

James “Jim” Eiche, 85 of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin has passed into eternal life on January 23, 2021 following a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

James was born on March 17, 1935 to Peter and Ruth (Bennett) Eiche in West Allis, Wisconsin. He was the youngest of 7 siblings. After his parents passed away he was raised in his brother Douglas’ family. James worked in sales at the family’s hydraulic manufacturing company. During this time, James met and married Marge Schmidt. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. In 1971, he pursued his love of baking and opened the St. Germain Bakery. He retired in 1992. His first wife, Marge passed away on October 27, 2007.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman, nature lover, traveler and loved reading a good book, especially westerns. He spent many happy hours gardening, baking for family and friends. Jim and Susan met through friends.
James married Emma Susan White on June 26, 2010.

Faith and church friends held a special place in Jim’s life. Our deep appreciation to those who made it possible for attendance at church and men’s club as Parkinson’s disease progressed. Thanks to those who visited and brought communion when he could no longer attend worship services.

Jim travels were highlighted in April 2019 when he joined his fellow veterans on a honor flight to Washington, D.C. Thank you to all who made this trip possible. It was a memory he relived and treasured often.

James is survived by his wife, Emma Susan Eiche and her family as well as by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors.

James was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Ruth: brothers Clifford, Fay, Douglas, Ralph, and Peter; his sister Lois Mary; and his first wife Marge.
