JANE RINGERSMA
Jane Kathleen Ringersma, 91, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. She was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada, on July 2, 1925, the daughter of George and Rose (Hofstra) Eder. She was raised in Fort Frances and was a 1942 graduate of the Phillips High School. She was married to Charles Ringersma Jr. on April 22, 1946, in Phillips. She was employed as a store clerk, worked in food service, as a Benefit Advocate, as a janitor, and most importantly, as a mother raising 7 children. She was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, of the American Legion Auxiliary, and of Koinonia, and served as a 4H Leader. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and needlework.
She is survived by six children, Sally (Chuck) Smith, Sauk City, WI, Susan Rakow, Madison, WI, Rose (Ken) Klawiter, Portage, WI, Nancy (Brian) Szymik, Park Falls, Jane Frederickson, Marshfield, and Marjorie (Wally) Lizak, Phillips; by 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren; by one brother, George (Carol) Eder, Washburn, WI; and by one sister, Betty Renko, Superior, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jr, on September 13, 1982; by one son, William “Bill”, by one sister, Rosemary Horak; by one brother, William “Bill” Eder; and by two brother-in-laws, John Horak and Gene Renko.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 7, at Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Phillips with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
