Jerome "Joe" Karl, age 91, of 2310 East Road, Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Golden Living- Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk.
Joe was born on March 24, 1919 in Cashton, Wisconsin to the late John and Katherine (Schmitz) Karl. He served his country from October of 1941 through October of 1945 in the US Army. He had served in London, England and Panama City. He was married to Mary Halverson on August 2, 1975 in Phillips, Wisconsin. Joe had been a millwright at Owens-Illinois, retiring in 1973. He also was a journeyman millwright for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and retired from there in 1981. Joe was always building and fixing things, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family, especially gardening with his granddaughter, Rayanne.

Joe is further survived by 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 Sisters.
Funeral Services for Joe Karl will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. Burial with Military Rites will follow at Prairie Rapids Cemetery in the Town of Nokomis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, from 9:00 am. until the time of services at 11.
