Joan A Anderson

Joan Anderson, 80, of Phillips, died unexpectedly January 28th, 2025.

 Joan was born in 1944 to Isabella and Earl Smith. She received her early education at St Anthony and Lincoln High schools, then continued her education for one year in Eau Claire. When she returned to Park Falls, she met her future husband, Allen. They were married in 1967 and lived in Park Falls for two years before moving to Phillips, where they purchased Woodie’s Barber Shop. Joan worked at Jeske’s Drug Store, St Croix, and Phillip’s Plastics, where she was a mold polisher. She also owned and operated L&E Polishing Shop, working for tool shops in Wisconsin and Michigan.

 Joan loved the outdoors and being with her family. In the winter, she enjoyed snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and ice fishing. In the summer you could find Joan gardening, fishing, camping, and traveling. Special memories were made on numerous fly-in fishing trips to Canada, cruises, and trips to Hawaii and Aruba.

 Joan leaves behind husband Allen; two children, Chris (Jody) and Manette (Ryan); two grandchildren, Owen Anderson and Elaria Weiss; sister Marie (Chet) Ball; sister-in-law Annelies Smith; and brother-in-law Darrell (Linda) Anderson. She was preceded in death by brothers, Francis and Tom; sister-in-law Vivian; and her parents.

 Joan always said that she got to live in the best part of the world. She will be dearly missed. 

With respect to Joan’s wishes, no memorial service will be held.
