John "Jack" Lee DuPont, age 75, of Tomahawk and Merrill, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Golden Living Center - Riverview in Tomahawk under the care of Asercare Hospice.
Jack was born February 14, 1939 in Tomahawk, the son of John and June (Christiansen) DuPont. He attended Northern Michigan University, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and from 1962 - 1965, was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mechanical projects, walking, and the outdoors. He was an avid Lionel train collector.
Survivors include: mother, June DuPont, Tomahawk; children, Aaron DuPont, Wausau, Kristal (Tim Petrakis) DuPont, Tomahawk, Melinda DuPont, Wausau, Jacqueline (Tony) Marheine, Wausau; sisters, Judy Teal, Tomahawk, Sally (Cliff) Sicklinger, Tomahawk, Melanie (Gary) Fralick, Rhinelander. Jack is further survived by eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, brother - Frederick, and sister - Joan Nelson.
Funeral Services with Military Honors for John "Jack" DuPont will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery in Tomahawk.
