John J. Haring, Sr, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Seasons of Life Ministry Hospice in Woodruff.
John was born on June 1st, 1923 in Harrison to Richard & Pauline (VanStrydonk) Haring. He was married to Beth Polar in 1948,she passed away in 1970. He was later married to Maxine Hammersley, she passed away in 2005. John served our country with the US Army during WWII, where he earned the Purple Heart. During his working career, he worked for Solar Permanent, Prentice Hydraulics and he also did carpentry work for Hans Leck Construction. John enjoyed throwing horseshoes, trout fishing, and he was an avid card player. He also was an avid Packer and Brewer fan.
John is survived by his children – John, Jr. of Tomahawk, Ruby (Kerry) Adams, of Indiana, Peter Haring, of Tomahawk, Cindy (Minerva) Haring, of California, Jean (Micky) Whalen, of Irma, Ellen Hammersley, of California, Joyce (Tim Prebig) Hammersley-West, of Tomahawk, Jenni (Scott) Welke, of Tomahawk and John III, of Rhinelander. He is further survived by 18 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and his brother Dan (Lolita) Haring, of Tomahawk. John is preceded in death by his parents and his two wives – Beth & Maxine, an infant daughter, Danelle, 10 brothers, and 2 sisters.
The Funeral Service with Military Honors for John Haring, Sr will take place at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 23rd at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor John Miskimen will officiate. Visitation will take place on Wednesday evening from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitiation will continue on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in the spring.
