John “Jack” Friske, age 94, 760 Division Street, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Golden Living-Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk.
Jack was born on January 9, 1922 in Tomahawk to Herman and Adeline (Klade) Friske. He was married to Doris Dodd on July 8, 1946 in Wausau, she passed away in 1991. Jack worked in the CCC camps before enlisting in the Marine Corps, he proudly served his country during World War II. Jack was thrilled to go on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight Mission 23 in April of this year. He was a resident of Tomahawk his entire life and had worked as a heavy equipment operator and logger. Jack also loved hunting & fishing.

Jack is further survived by 6 great grandchildren, Gary, Sarah, Travis, Phillip, Shaun, and Evan. He is further survived by 10 great great grandchildren & 35 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; son, Gary; siblings, Bob, Don, Alice, Pauline & Herman “Buddy”; and his significant other for 18 years, Doris Turgeon.
The Funeral Service with Military Honors for Jack Friske will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from
9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
