Joseph P. Conlan, Sr., 74, a longtime Brantwood area resident, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital.
Joe was born September 20, 1943 in Evanston, Illinois to Gerald and Marie (Wright) Conlan. He was united in marriage on August 13, 1966 to Kathleen Marheine in Tomahawk. Joe served his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver and was a member of Local #139. He also worked at Omark in Prentice and Brantwood Auto Salvage. Joe also enjoyed working in the woods, driving pulp trucks, and did some snow plowing. He was a kind hearted and very generous man. He was a member of the Spirit American Legion Post 452 and had served as the financial secretary for many years. Joe was a former member of Trinity Ev Lutheran Church in Prentice & had served on the Board of Trustees. He also enjoyed going to antique farm equipment shows.

Joe is further survived by 4 grandchildren, Erin and Ben Sterk and Jessica and Julie Conlan. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia; a brother, Gerald; and a niece, Lynne.
Funeral Service for Joe Conlan, Sr., will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, from 4:00PM until a Military Tribute ending the evening at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
Memorials in Joe’s name are appreciated to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the leading organization funding Type 1 Diabetes research.
