JOSEPH BURES
Joseph Frank Bures, 79, Town of Worcester, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau on Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born in the Town of Worcester on November 14, 1936, the son of James and Frances (Kysela) Bures. He was a 1954 graduate of the Phillips High School. He was married to Betty Balaty in Phillips on June 8, 1963. As a young man he hauled can milk for 9 years, then worked as a logger, first with Oliver Dunbar, then with Franklin Loula, and then on his own. He and Betty operated a dairy farm in the Town of Worcester, and in then in latter years up until the present time operated a beef farm. He was a member of the Western Fraternal Life Association and of the Czech Singers. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, collecting, restoring machinery, attending tractor shows, and socializing, especially at Polacek’s .
He is survived by his wife, Betty, by one son, Peter, Phillips; by two daughters, Delsie (Shawn) Bures, New Braunfels, TX, and Kathy Bures, Phillips; by one grandson, Riley Bures; by one sister, Gloria Figuly, Hammond, IN; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother, James.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 6, at the Heindl Fuenral Home with Deacon James Celba of Saint Threrse of Lisieux officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Phillips. Friends may call at t the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
