Joyce V Osness

Joyce Osness, age 91, of Tomahawk, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 surrounded by her family at Golden Living – Riverview Nursing Home. Joyce was born on April 2, 1925 in Merrill to Olaf and Wilhelmina (Welk) Skare. She was married to Donald K Osness on July6, 1946 in Wausau, Wisconsin. Don passed away in 2013. Joyce had worked as the Children’s Librarian at the Tomahawk Public Library. She was a seamstress, enjoyed golfing, cooking, baking, and was a member of many card clubs. She taught her daughters how to embroider, knit, and sew. Joyce enjoyed all of the activities at Riverview Terrace for the past years, she loved dogs, and most of all, her grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Joyce is survived by, 3 Daughters, Donna Winker Merrill Deanna (Rick) Day Wausau Wendy (Butch) Black Harshaw Sister, Darlene Madden Wausau Joyce is also survived by 4 Grandchildren – Maggie (Dave) Haimann, Ben (Youngmin) Winker, Shawn (Jennifer) Black & Ryan (Lisa) Black. She is further survived by 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and a sister, Joann. The Funeral Service for Joyce will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Ziemer will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
