Judy Anne Way, 75, Phillips, Town of Harmony, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Sunday, July 7, 2019. She was born on December 23, 1943, in Norwich, Connecticut, the daughter of Clarence and Annie (Gray) Barrie. She was a graduate of the Jewett City High School in Connecticut. She was married to John Zajechowski on December 14, 1963, in Jewett City, CT, and they later divorced. She was married to Peter Harpin on February 18, 1972 in Scotland, CT, and he precedes her in death. She was married to Jim Way on July 7, 1977, and they later divorced. She attended and was a graduate of Northcentral Technical College and later attended and was a graduate of Mt. Scenerio College of Ladysmith. She was employed by the Park Manor Nursing Home of Park Falls for many years, and later by the House of Sewing and Assembly in Phillips until the time of her retirement in January of 1995. In her free time she loved to garden and preserve food, and she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and reading. She also wrote the column “Creek Side Comfort” for the Phillips BEE for many years, wrote a history of her hometown, and had her articles published in various magazines.
She is survived by three children, John (Angie) Zajechowski, Phillips, Joe Zajechowski, Phillips, and Jessie (Blaine) Hamilton, Lindon, Utah; by 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and by her special friend, Deb Reinke. She is preceded in death by her parents; by one son, Stephen; by one grandson, Spencer; and by two brothers, William and Robert Barrie.
Cremation has taken place, no services are scheduled at this time.
