Kaarlo Elof Hinsa, age 90, of Tomahawk, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Kaarlo was born on June 24, 1924 in Brantwood, Wisconsin to Carl and Impi (Manty) Hinsa. He married Ardis Crowell on December 23, 1945 in Prentice, she passed away in 2001. Kaarlo was a veteran of the US Army and served near the end of WWII. He was born and raised in Brantwood, he first owned and operated a gas station, tavern, and used car dealership in Brantwood, Tripoli, and Prentice. He had been a truck driver for the Tomahawk Boat Factory, Marathon Cheese, and Gustafson Logging. He later moved to Florida and did residential construction form many years and summered in the Tomahawk area before moving back permanently in 2001. Kaarlo was a member of St. Paul Ev. Luthern Church, the VFW post in Tomahawk, and had been a 32nd degree mason.

He is further survived by 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Kaarlo Elof Hinsa will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11. Military rites will be conducted at the Gravesite.
