Karen R. Neidlein, age 69, summer resident of 1977 Rambling Lane, Rhinelander, and also of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Ministry St. Mary Hospital in Rhinelander.
Karen was born January 31, 1942 in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Rudolph and Rosella (Erickson) Schweiss. She was a 1960 graduate of Spencer High School, and a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Wausau. She married Thomas Neidlein on November 25, 1967 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. She was a registered nurse in Wausau and the Twin Cities. Karen and Tom have been summer residents of the Tomahawk area for many years, formerly in Pier Willow and currently the Manson Lake area. She enjoyed reading, college and professional basketball and football, playing cards, movies, and playing board games with her grandchildren.

Karen is further survived by three grandsons, Tommy, Erik, and Ty.
A Memorial Mass for Karen Neidlein will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2011 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of Mass at 2:00 p.m.
