Kay B. Hanish

Kay B. (Ruud) Hanish, 72, of Nekoosa, WI, passed away on September 13, 2023, following a courageous battle of cancer. Kay was born October 27, 1950, in Phillips, WI, to John and Tillie (Newberry) Ruud. Kay grew up in Phillips, WI and later married Richard Hanish on Feb 25, 1977, in Geneva, IL.
Kay worked many jobs in her lifetime. Some included Crystal Café, Westwood Golf Course, Aurora School District, Burger King, LLI, American Bark, Dubuque Hardwoods, and RH Landscaping.
Kay enjoyed spending time with family, playing 31, camping, working puzzle books, plastic canvas, and playing Bingo.
Kay is survived by two sons, Brent (Kathy) Mindock of Prentice, WI, and Justin Hanish (Bianca) of WI Rapids, WI; two daughters, Carrie Hanish (John) of Vesper, WI, and Traci (Geronimo) Mendieta of Port Edwards, WI; three grand-daughters, Kaylee Mendieta, Rylyn Hanish, and Blakely Hanish; one grandson, Tanner Mindock (Ashley); three step-grandsons, Jaeger Haubert, Sawyer Haubert, and Geronimo Mendieta Jr; siblings, Jack (Diane) Ruud, Gary (Debbie) Ruud, Judy (Dave) Kelnhofer, Louis Ruud, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, John and Tillie Ruud; step-mother, Luella Ruud; brothers, Mickey (Phyllis) Ruud, Bob (Carol) Ruud, Dick Ruud, and Gordon Ruud; sisters, Carol (Bill) Smith, Gloria, and infant, Shirley; in-laws, Richard and Ethel Hanish; and brother-in-law, James Hanish.
Kay is loved and will be dearly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI, 54555. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Lakeside II Cemetery, Phillips.
