Kenneth Paul Mauk, age 92, of Tomahawk, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Kenneth was born on August 21, 1929 in Claysburg, PA to Samuel P. Mauk and Lucy (Lingerfelter) Dibert-Mauk. He was a 1947 graduate of Greenfield Township High School in Claysburg, Pennsylvania. He met Florence Jane Guyer and they were married shortly thereafter on December 27, 1949 in Winchester, VA. At the age of 12, Ken started working for his father at the Mauk’s Service Station in Claysburg. He later became the owner proprietor of the “Store” until his retirement. He was known as “Kenny” and loved by all who knew him in this small rural community. Ken loved fishing, doing Sudoku puzzles, and playing cornhole. He enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler games. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 72 years – Florence Jane Mauk of Tomahawk; three daughters – Gail (Ted) Manna of Florida, Janel (Joe) Piper of Georgia & Kim (John) Walter of Tomahawk. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother – Thomas Mauk and many half brothers and sisters on both of the Dibert and Mauk sides of the family.
In accordance to his wishes, Kenneth will be cremated and his final resting place will be back home in Pennsylvania.
