Kenneth A. Pietila, age 70, W4670 E. Pine Shore Lane, Tomahawk, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence. Ken was born September 24, 1943 in Stambough, Michigan, the son of August and Mary (Ojaniemi) Pietila. He married Patricia Woods on July 21, 1984 in Rhinelander. Ken was a civil engineer specializing in water treatment. He was employed with Rexnord in Milwaukee for 30 years, and later began Pietila Consulting Associates as a professional engineer. He came to Tomahawk in 1991, and enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, bowling, being with his family, but most of all, he loved being a dad and teacher to his children. Survivors include: wife, Patricia Pietila, Tomahawk; children, Gregory (Sherry) Pietila, of Erin, Scott (Sandy) Pietila, of Sussex, Shelly (Anthony) Boyd, of Wauwatosa, Carmi (Michael) Pietila Cleary, of Madison; sister, Karen (Arthur) Ross, of Bruce Crossing, Michigan; brother-in-law, Greg (Mary) Woods, of Laveta, Colorado. Ken is further survived by his former wife - Mariann Pietila, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, and nieces - Pam, Janet, and Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son - Mark. A Celebration of Life for Ken Pietila will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of services at 3:00 PM. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family for a luncheon which will be held at the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Tomahawk.
