Kerv Hocking, age 82, 206 S. 3rd St., Tomahawk, passed away on January 13, 2012 at his home.
Kerv was born on November 16, 1929 in Oak Park, IL, the son of Joseph and Berniece (Diehl) Hocking. In September of 1950 he married Joan Zochert. Joan passed away in 1998. Kerv took a job as an accountant for Solar Permanent in 1956 and later as an accountant for Harley Davidson, where he worked for over 20 years. He also served as a Tomahawk Police Dispatcher from 1988 until he retired in March of 2008. Kerv was a lifetime member of NRA. He loved shooting firearms, reading and watching westerns, feeding the birds, tending his flowers, but his family was most important to him.

Kerv is further survived by 7 grandchildren. Kerv is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joan, and a brother.
A Funeral Service with Military Rites for Kerv Hocking will take place at noon on Tuesday, January 17 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of service at noon.
