Kevin J. Genelin, age 54, Fort Payne, Alabama, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away Monday June 27, 2011, in Birmingham at UAB Hospital. Kevin was born November 28, 1956, in Mankato, MN, the son of Jim and Pat Genelin. Kevin was a 1975 graduate of Tomahawk High School. He moved to Fort Payne, Alabama in 1982. He was formerly the Plant Manager of the Heil Corporation, and he was the V.P. and General Manager of Industrial Packaging Corporation. He was also a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, where he served as Parish Council President and was active in the Religious Education Program, the RCIA Program, and the Birmingham Cursillo Movement, where he served as secretary to the Secretariat. Kevin was a founding member of the Bread of Life Community Ministries, and he also served as Grand Knight of Columbus Council #13152 and was the Faithful Navigator for Assembly #2867. He served on the board of directors of the Dekalb County Red Cross and UGF. Kevin enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, portrait drawing, and playing cribbage, but most of all he loved spending time with friends and family. He was an active member of the community and donated both his time and his goodwill to anyone in need. Survivors include:

Sisters Mary Hardel Wausau Peggy (Rich) Johnson Wausau A Memorial Mass for Kevin Genelin will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday the 10th from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of Mass at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tomahawk.
