Lani-Dallmann-Tops, 65, formerly of Tomahawk, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at her home in Boreen Point, Queensland, Australia. Lani was born February 27, 2942 in Milwaukee, the daughter of William and Helen Dallmann. She graduated from Tomahawk High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her post-graduate studies followed her interests in Environmental Science, Botany, Art, and Computer. She married Roelant Tops 1984. While living in California, Lani was employed by Bechtel Engineering and IBM. She also had a landscape gardening business, was a naturalist at a nature preserve, a telephone counselor at a women's crisis center, and operated her own craft business. Her interests included worldwide travel, photography, and exploring Australia. Lani touched many lives wherever she lived with her knowledge, insight, and sense of adventure. Her eye for art enabled those around her to appreciate the beauty and intricacy woven into nature. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband, Roelant of Boreen Point, Australia; step-daughter, Simone of Brisbane, Australia; two brothers, Bill (Pam) Dallmann of Tomahawk and Jeff (Sandy) Dallmann of Soldotna, AK; two sisters, Lori (Bruce) Grube of Austin, TX, and Helen (Larry) Nelson of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. A Private gathering of family and friends was held. The family requests memorials be sent to your local hospice or an environmental organization.
