Larry J. Crossman, 59 years old, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Larry was born on April 13, 1957 in Waukesha, WI, where he spent his childhood growing up. He started his family in Germantown, WI before moving to Tomahawk, WI in 1984, where he raised his family and spent most of his life.
Larry worked for the Lincoln County Highway Department in Tomahawk as a heavy equipment mechanic for 30 years. Before that, Larry worked briefly for the DNR in Tomahawk, WI. He also worked for Payne and Doland of Waukesha, WI for 7 years. In his youth, he was a trim boy at the Waukesha Trim Shop.
Larry enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, and canoeing. He traveled across the country taking his time to truly absorb its beauty.
Larry restored and worked on cars and trucks. It was during those times that he also built many wonderful memories with his boys while working on them together. He shot pool and threw horseshoes, having won many trophies. He enjoyed the companionship of his dogs and all the pets they had through the years.
Larry treasured his family and adored them so much. He was a wonderful presence in his life to all who knew him. He had such a beautiful heart. Larry was always there for others, going out of his way to help those in need in so many ways.
His beloved wife Lizette Crossman of over 40 years survives Larry, along with their three sons - Jason (Meagan) Crossman of Tomahawk, WI, Luke (Jessica) Crossman of Rhinelander, WI, & John (Emily) Crossman of Elk Mound,WI. Larry was “Poppy” to nine precious grandchildren whom he loved so deeply - Alexis, Madison, Elicia, Arieanna, Jonathan, Noah, Evelyn, Xander, and Eli Crossman. He is further survived by his two brothers Bob Crossman of Cedarburg, WI and Alex Crossman of Sun Valley, NV.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents Robert and Mary Crossman.
Larry was greatly loved and meant so much to so many. He will be missed beyond what words can express.
The Funeral Service for Larry Crossman will take place at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until the time of service at 12:00Noon. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, in the spring.
