Larry Voermans, 70, of Tomahawk, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 under the care of his family and Ministry Home Care and Hospice. Larry came into this world on New Year's Eve, 1944. One of the biggest days for parties and celebrations…and that set the tone for his entire life. His parents were Lawrence and Adeline (Henderson) Voermans. In 1964 Larry went to California to live with his uncle Chet. It was there that he met and married Caroline Kumber. They had 2 children, Cara and Joe. They divorced in 1969. In 1974, Larry met Mary Lu (Zanella) Hummitsch. They married on October 12, 1974. The combined family now included Larry's 2 children and Mary Lu's son, Charlie. Larry and Mary Lu enjoyed 40 years together with family and friends. The most enjoyable times were when they traveled. Survivors include: Wife, Mary Lu Mother, Adeline Voermans Tomahawk Children, Cara Taylor Las Vegas, NV Joe (Alina) Voermans Tomahawk Chuck Hummitsch Riverside, CA Larry is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Voermans, a sister, Beverly Berg, and a grandson, Troy Taylor A Memorial Service for Larry Voermans will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Funeral Home Friday, June 26 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10 until the time of services at 11. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Larry J. Voermans Scholarship at Nicolet College.
