Lauretta M. Kernin, age 91, 9 E. Prospect Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 at Ministry St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.
Lauretta was born February 8, 1919 in Wausau, the daughter of Emil and Josephine (Stieber) Poeske. She married Mahlon 'Stubby' Kernin on March 5, 1941 in Wausau; he passed away on October 19, 2005. Lauretta was formerly employed with U.S. Industries and Hanke's Supermarket. She was a member of the Jolly Ten Card Club, and was a member of the Women's Golf League at Inshalla. Lauretta was an avid Packers fan, loved going to the casinos, and enjoyed camping and fishing. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Lauretta is further survived by 10 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass for Lauretta Kernin will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 12:00 noon until the hour of Mass at 1:00 p.m.
