Lawrence “Larry” Van Vleet, age 82 is “seeking a good fishing hole” after passing from this life to his new life in Christ on July 10th. Larry had an avid interest in the wonders of nature which he enjoyed in many fishing and hunting experiences. He always had one more story to tell and would offer suggestions on the “how to’s”.
Larry also enjoyed dancing, especially, “a good jitterbug.” Once the music started he’d grab the first partner willing to dance and the fun began.
Being a member of AA was very positive influence in Larry’s life. The shared commitment and mutual respect shown each member enabled him to remain sober for over forty years. When he spoke of that fact in his life, there was a sense of inner peace.
Larry is survived by his Children: Kim (Brian) Dorney, Cindy (Tom) Massey, LuAnne (Jim) Mungo and Larry (Barb Thompson) Van Vleet and by his Grandchildren: Matt Van Vleet, Nick, Kyle and Brad Dorney and Sarah (Ryan) Wittlinger and Emily Wilhelm. Further survived by his Sisters: Isabelle Paugel and Nancy (Wayne) Nelson and Sister in law; Nancy Van Vleet and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
