LAWRENCE BERES
Lawrence Eugene Beres, 78, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Sunday, November 2, 2014, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health and Hospice. He was born in Calumet County, Michigan, on July 22, 1936.
He served his country as a Military Policeman in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Phillips Plastics Corporation for many years, and then from 1996 to the present time by Do It Best Hardware in Phillips. In his free time he enjoyed reading and watching sports, and as a young man enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his companion, Sharon Dill; by seven children, Jesse (Molly) Dill, Chris (Katie) Beres, Collette Beres, Laura Beres, Corky (Billie Jo) Beres, Kevin (Theresa) Beres, and Kim (Cheryl) Beres; by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and by three sisters, Jeanie Gordon, Chris Kruppe, and Betty Curzon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Otto Flohr.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 8, at the Heindl Fuenral Home in Phillips with Pastor Thomas Reiff officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Frank and Michael Baran VFW Post No. 5778 and the Lane Kreiling American Legion Post No.122. Interment will be in the Tony Cemetery in Tony. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, November 8, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
