Lawrence Magnant

Lawrence E. Magnant, age 84, N11445 Cty. Rd. A, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Larry was born June 9, 1926 in Rhinelander, the son of Earl and Dorothea (Segerlund) Magnant. He married Ellie Zembrycki on November 1, 1947 in Ashland. Larry formerly worked for Wisconsin Public Service in Rhinelander. He later worked for Neifert-White Hardware, Lumber & Cement in Townsend, Montana, and most recently owned and operated the Showboat Motel in Casper, Wyoming. He and Ellie moved the Tomahawk area 6 years ago. He enjoyed hunting in Montana, and was a custom gunsmith. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. Survivors include: Wife Ellie Magnant Tomahawk Daughters Chris Copiskey Tomahawk Marcia (Jeff) Barkus Rhinelander Lisa (Glen) Breise Helena, Montana Sons Greg Magnant Milwaukee Kurt Magnant Bozeman, Montanta Larry is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A small gathering of close friends and family will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Silver Birch in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. A Military Service will precede the gathering.
