Leland Crowell, age 81, 701 Roosevelt Street, Tomahawk, passed away December 17, 2012 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk under the care of Aseracare Hospice.
Leland was born May 17, 1931 in Spirit Falls, the son of Kelly and Almeda (Fields) Crowell. He married Anna Mae Larson on September 17, 1955 in Merrill. Leland was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and served during the Korean War in the Philippines. He started off working as a milkman for Parkins Dairy in Merrill, and was later employed for 31 years with MT&W Railroad in Tomahawk, retiring as a conductor in 1992. Leland loved camping and fishing - especially Canadian fishing trips, and had a great work ethic. He was a former member of the Covenant Church in Spirit and Tomahawk, and a current member of the First Congregational Church UCC in Tomahawk.

Leland is further survived by 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters - Pauline and Arlene, and a brother - Patrick.
A Memorial Service for Leland Crowell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the First Congregational Church UCC in Tomahawk. Pastor John Miskimen will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m.
