Leland S. Huntley, age 92 of Tomahawk, WI, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk. Leland was born September 20, 1921 in Adams Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the son of Stillmon and Nelly (Pierce) Huntley. He married Margaret A. Hoeft on December 4, 1943 at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. He worked as a union carpenter and drove truck for several years before retiring.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Huntley of Tomahawk and Marsha Weber of Marion, WI; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret on November 16, 2011; a daughter, Margaret Marty; a son, Marty Huntley; two sisters, Evelyn Bidlingmaier and Irma Wettach; and a brother, Laurence Huntley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, with Rev. Lawrence Balleine officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, followed by a luncheon at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials in Leland's name are suggested to the Alzheimers Association. Locally, Krueger Family Funeral Home is assisting the family.
