Leonard F. Arndt, age 68, of Tomahawk, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at his home under the care of Ministry Hospice.
Len was born on April 12, 1948 in Tomahawk to William F. Arndt Jr & Margaret Hanson. After high school, Len went to college for graphic design. He married Donna Majerus in 1986. Len owned and operated ACS Automotive Body Shop in Tomahawk on Spirit Avenue and also had some rental units. For most of Len’s working career, he worked for Harley Davidson as a side car assembler. When Len was younger, he raced stock cars at the Tomahawk Speedway. He was #16 and was known as “Mr. Excitement”. In his free time, Len loved to collect cars, especially 1957 Chevrolets and Corvairs. Len also wrote and published a sci-fi novel titled “Earth Imagined” under his pen name L. Frederick Arndt.
Len is survived by his wife, of 31 years, Donna, of Tomahawk; his 4 daughters – Angela (James) Larkin, Michelle (Johnathon) Callahan, Kayleen (fiancé Jason Downing) Weber & Valerie (Eddie) Gilbert, all of Tomahawk; and his son – Benjamin Arndt, also of Tomahawk. Len is further survived by his brother William (Sherry) Arndt of California and 10 Grandchildren.
The Funeral Service for Leonard Arndt will take place at 5:00PM on Wednesday, March 1st, 2017, at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. Visitation will take place from 3:00PM until the time of service at 5:00PM. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in the spring.
