LEONARD JOHN HEITING
Leonard J. Heiting, 81, Phillips, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at his home under the care of his family.
He was born on March 2, 1935, in Stanley, WI, the son of John and Ann (Foster) Heiting.
He spent his early life and schooling in Hannibal,WI where he attended the Hannibal High School. Following his education he was employed at many various occupations including Enerson Ford as a mechanic, the Delta Home Center, the Stratford Co-op, and was the owner and operator of Heiting Small Engine in Ladysmith, WI.
He was married to Barbara Cukla on August 19, 1961, in Gilman, WI, They recently celebrated their 55th Anniversary.
He was a member of the K of C Council #2481 and Lions Club in Ladysmith, WI.
In his free time he enjoyed hunting, watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, and spending time with
family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Phillips, WI, by 2 children: Brenda (Rick) Jenness of Fall Creek, WI, and Brian Heiting of Gladstone, MI, 4 grandchildren: Nicholle, Hillary, Dominic, and Benjamin, and 1 sister, Jeanne Hermann of Iron Ridge, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by 1 sister Dolores Laverty.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 9, 2016, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips,WI with Fr. Gerald Hagen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at the church until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
