Leonard Olson, age 86, of N8449 Skanawan Lake Road, Irma, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Len was born on October 3, 1929 in Evanston, Illinois to John and Hedvig (Davidson) Olson. Len's family emigrated from Sweden in 1927, he was the only member of his family to be born in the United States. He married Karen Swanson on February 13, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evanston. Len was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Air Force. He lived most of his life in Illinois while working as a lab technician for US Gypsum. Len retired in 1991 and in 1993 he and Karen moved to Tomahawk. He was a lifelong Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Black Hawks fan. In his younger years Len enjoyed bowling, camping, and bike riding. He was a life member of the American Legion Skokie Post 320 and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.

Len is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
A Memorial Service with Military Rites for Leonard Olson will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate.
The Olson family will receive friends at the Krueger Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m.
