LeRoy Schuetz, age 97, long-time resident of Tomahawk, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Lili Lane Assisted Living in Rothschild.
LeRoy was born on April 17, 1915 in Wausau to the late Leo and Anna (Hasely) Schuetz. He married Arlie Peterson on February 26, 1948 here in Tomahawk, she passed away in 1989. LeRoy served his country in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated LeRoy Schuetz Heating and Cooling in Tomahawk for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fabricating, smoking and canning everything imaginable. In his later years, LeRoy especially loved spending time at casino's. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

7 Grandchildren, Sheryl, Kim Myra, Michelle, Rachel, Sara, and David. 11 Great Grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristen, Samantha, Dylan, Lukas, Casey, Jarrett, Jack, Jacob, Amanda, and Ashley. He is further survived by 2 Great Great Grandsons, Jon and Alex. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter Charlene Wydeven, Son, David and a son-in-law, Jack Surfus.
A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Rites for LeRoy Schuetz will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Edward Powell will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
