LeRoy Charles “Turk” Gura, 69, Phillips, died in the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home in Phillips on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was born in Phillips on February 5, 1948, the son of Charles and Leona (Smith) Gura. He was a 1966 graduate of the Phillips High School. He then attended Wisconsin State University in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelors Degree. He was employed by the Georgia Pacifica Company in Phillips until the time of his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed travel, trips to the casino, and participating in area pool, bowling, darts, and horseshoe leagues.
He is survived by one sister, Charlene (Gilbert) Dering, Wausau, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 24, at the Heindl Funeral Home in Phillips with Pastor Glenn Sokolowski officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
