LILLIAN C. PESKO
Lillian C. Pesko, 94, llifelong resident of the Phillips area, died on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, while under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice and her family
She was born on September 2, 1923, in the Town of Emery, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Petr) Koci. She attended and graduated from Phillips, High School. She was married to Michael Pesko on September 5, 1942, in Phillips. She worked hand in hand with her husband Michael on a dairy farm they owned and operated in the Town of Worcester, until the time of their retirement..
In her free time she enjoyed cooking, baking especially chocolate chip cookies, listening to polka music, writing short stories about her childhood, and spending time with her family and friends. She received many awards at the Price County Fair, for her cooking and baking.
She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, the East Highland Homemakers, and an organizer of the Czech Fest.
She is survived by her 3 children: Sherrie (Charles) Kandutsch, Phillips, Michael (Patricia) Pesko, Shell Lake, Wi., and Jon (Sherry) Pesko, Phillips, by 7 grandchildren: Charles M. Kandutsch, Kristen (William) Harper, Meghan (Jeremy “Pete” Peterson) Pesko, Michael Pesko, Jeremy(Stephanie) Pesko, Matthew (Rose Mary) Pesko, and Trinity Pesko, by 8 Great Grandchildren: Caitlin, Leah, Nicholas, Ally, Michael, Lucy, Bree, and Craig, and by 2 sisters: Julia Marik, Cicero, Ill., and Emily Palka, Park Falls, and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Michael on May 7, 2005, by 1 infant son William, and by brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 6, 2017, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips, with Fr. Gerald Hagen officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Phillips. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church until the time of the service.
A memorial fund has been established for Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice, Phillips.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
