Linda Nashland

Linda Lou (Gunther-Wagner) Nashland passed away June 27, 2024 at 8:15am. She was born June 15th, 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan, to Otto and Frieda (Rehberg) Gunther. She is survived by five of her six children; Dr. Norine Wagner of Howell, Michigan; Mark (Susan) Wagner of Syracuse, Utah; Erik (Lynn) Wagner of Austin, Texas; Karl Wagner of Minocqua, Wisconsin; Holly (Michael) McCormack of Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin, and one step-daughter Gail (John) Koski of Marquette, Michigan; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, siblings James (Margret “Marge”) Gunther, and Annalee (Kenneth) Locke, and one son; Derek (Rajmanie) Wagner late of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Linda grew up in Muskegon the youngest of three children and was especially fond of her nephews who were of similar age; Larry, Richard, Roger, and Fred Locke. All of whom preceded her in death. She married her first husband Richard Wagner in June of 1955. They had all six of their children over the next 8 years, starting with Norine in 1956 and ending with Holly in 1964. They lived in various locations in lower Michigan and briefly in Sacramento, California before settling in Ewen, Michigan in 1969. Following her divorce from Richard in 1976, she met Walter “Buzz” Nashland whom she married on September 10, 1994. They continued to live on Fair Oaks Road in Ewen, Michigan until he passed away in 2010. Linda has been a resident of Minocqua, Wisconsin for 11 years and was well known at her parish (Holy Family) and the senior center where she loved to meet friends and play cards.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Marshfield Medical Center and Seasons of Life Hospice for the kind and compassionate care she received in her final days.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 1:00pm, with a gathering beginning at 12:30pm at Nimsgern Funeral Home. Burial will be take place in the fall.
