Lonn P Lamer

Lonn P. Lamer, 84, a lifelong Tomahawk area resident passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Lonn was born December 6, 1935 in Tomahawk to Herman and Veva (Egelkrout) Lamer. He was married to Sharon LeMay on October 29, 1955 also in Tomahawk, Sharon passed away in 2017. Lonn was a member of the National Guard’s Company C 132nd Tank Battalion. Early in life he learned to be a jack of all trades working alongside the hired ranch hands at Crystal Lake Fur Farm, Pine Cone Ranch Resort and the Lamer Springs Muskrat Farm in the McCord/Lamer Springs area. He had to deal with everything from logging to horses while taking care of the fox, mink, and muskrats they raised. Lonn and Sharon also owned and operated the Pine Cone Ranch Resort. He worked for nearly 30 years at the Tomahawk paper mill as a millwright in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed horses, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and anything else that involved being outdoors with his friends. He had served as the chairman of the Lincoln County Board of Adjustment for many years. He, also was known as the mayor of Heafford Junction. Lonn loved telling jokes and stories, and was the go to person about local history. Surviving Lonn Lamer are his two children, Michele (Tom) Kahle and L. Monte (Shirley) Lamer all of Tomahawk. 5 grandchildren, Paul Nyberg of Healy, AK; Amanda Bartz of Tomahawk; Samantha Arbuckle of North Pole, AK; Melina Lamer of St. Cloud, MN; and Hunter Lamer of Tomahawk. He is further survived by 6 great grandchildren, Paul, Jr.; Quinten, Kimi, Parker, Lili, and Ashton. Lonn also considered his cousins to be siblings and is survived by Gerry Lamer, Fran Lamer, and Donna Magnuson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sharon; Daughter, Kim White; grandson, Tyler Kahle; great grandson Matthew; sisters, Connie, twin Karen; and cousins, Gene, Vern and Al Lamer, Rita Kuehling, and Marge Oelhafen. Funeral Services with Military Rites for Lonn Lamer will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at the Krueger Family Funeral Home Thursday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and again Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
