Lori Laaksonen

Lori Laaksonen, age 54, W321 Kansas Ave., Brantwood, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff. Lori was born August 13, 1959 in Tomahawk, the daughter of Philip and Janice (Schweke) Hakala. She was a 1977 graduate of Prentice High School, where she later coached forensics. She married Kenneth Laaksonen on August 28, 1982 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice. She was formerly employed for 17 years at Golden Age Nursing Home in Tomahawk as a nurse's aide and social worker. She was currently employed for the past 16 years at UMR Health Insurance in Wausau. Lori enjoyed flower gardening - especially dahlias. She loved children, and taught Sunday School and Bible School at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Prentice, and later at the Tripoli Log Church. Survivors include: husband, Ken Laaksonen, Brantwood, daughter, Alyssa (Darrin) Evans, Cottage Grove, parents, Philip and Janice Hakala, Tomahawk, siblings, Brian (Dani) Hakala, Tomahawk, Keith Hakala, Fond du Lac, Lynn (Tim) Morehead, Parker, Colorado, Vernon (Holly) Hakala, Ogema. Lori is further survived by many other family members and friends. A Celebration of Life for Lori Laaksonen will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 6th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services at 11:00 AM Burial will be in the Somo Cemetery in Tripoli, Wisconsin.
