Lorraine H. Simonis

August 2, 1928 — October 5, 2015

Lorraine H. Simonis of Lake Tomahawk WI passed away peacefully October 5, 2015 at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, WI.

She was born August 2, 1928 in Stevens Point, WI to George and Elizabeth (Piotrowski) Schultz. She was the second of nine children. Lorraine grew up in Stevens Point and attended
PJ Jacobs High School.

On March 16, 1951 Lorraine married Douglas M. Simonis. They settled in Waukesha, WI where they raised seven children. Lorraine's greatest joy in life was being with and taking care of her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Lorraine was a hard worker
but also had a great sense of humor. Her shoulder was always there to lean on. Lorraine spent the last several years caring for Douglas at home until he passed last October 17th.

After moving to Lake Tomahawk in 1977 Lorraine joined a pool league and played for The Lone Pine Landing team. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 318. She so enjoyed taking part in Legion projects and was always honored to walk in the 4th of July parades. For many years she played Bingo every Sunday at the Community Center in Lake Tomahawk. Lorraine and Doug were longtime faithful members of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Lorraine had a very close bond with her sister Nancy who survives her. They loved and supported each other through good times and bad. It has been a comfort to all of us to know these two sisters were so concerned about each other.

Lorraine is survived by her children: Douglas, Jr. (Kathy) of Watertown, Sharon (John) Fletcher of DeBary, FL, Debbi LaPrade, Robert, and Steve of Lake Tomahawk, Karen Revels of Bonduel, and Tom of Lomira. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and further survived by 2 Brothers; George (Darlene) Schultz and Dennis (Grace) Schultz and her Sister, Elizabeth (Jeannie) Knich and by many other friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas M. Simonis, Sr., her parents and one brother and three sisters.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff for all the tender loving care Lorraine received in the last few weeks of her life.
