Lorraine Pierson, age 87, W1568 State Hwy. 86, Tomahawk, passed away November 19, 2013 at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk.
Lorraine was born October 10, 1926 in Iron Belt, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Minnie Levra. She married Donald Pierson on July 11, 1953 in Iron Belt; he passed away July 27, 2010. Lorraine received her B.A. in Education from Central State Teachers College. She taught at Whittier School in Tomahawk, and also at Hurley and Racine. She was the caregiver of her husband and family, and enjoyed camping, gardening, her pets, being outdoors, playing piano, and cross country skiing. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.
Survivors include: sons, Darrell (Cheryl) Pierson, Brantwood, Keith (Mary) Pierson, Pulaski; brother, Lawrence Levra, Hurley. Lorraine is further survived by three grandchildren, Courtney, Katrina, and Michelle Pierson; two step grandsons, Scott (Becky) Gladson and Eric (Heather) Gladson; and seven step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister - Eleanor.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine Pierson will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Fr. Don Kania will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 12:00 noon.
