Lorraine A Sarkkinen

Lorraine A. Sarkkinen, 89, of the Brantwood Prentice area, was called home on Saturday, September 2, 2023, to the hymn of 'When the Roll is Called Up Yonder.' She was born on September 14, 1933, the oldest daughter of 11 children, to Lee and Helen (Zastrow) Haskins, in Stetsonville, WI. 

Growing up, she spent a lot of her time helping her mother with her siblings and with her grandmother on the Zastrow farm. She married Russell Sarkkinen on June 9, 1951.
Lorriane and Russell spent a lot of their time snowmobiling, camping, and fishing. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Lorraine is survived by her children, Russell (Jennifer) Sarkkinen and Elizabeth (Gary) Buxton; siblings, Norman (Sue) Haskins, Roy (Linda) Haskins, Gene (Joyce) Haskins; sisters-in-law, Doris and Bobby Ann; brother-in-law, Larry; grandchildren, Jessica ( and the late Jake) Andreae, Joshua (Nikki) Sarkkinen, Stefanie (Joshua) Jones, Stacy (Troy) Smith, and April Kaiser; and great-grandchildren, Molly (Eli and soon to be born great-great grandson) Templin , Logan, Nolan, Owen, Gavin, Ryder, Ledger, Barrick, Grace, Hope, Silas. 

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Robert, Howard, Donald, Roger, Elaine, Doris, and Carol.

A Celebration of Christ and Lorraine's victory over death will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Ogema Baptist Church, W5091 WI-86, Ogema, WI 54459, with Pastor Rodney Price officiating.  A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will be held in Prentice Cemetery. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
