Louise Maher, age 84, Wausau, formerly of Irma, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at her daughter's residence under Aspirus Comfort Care Home Hospice.
Louise was born October 21, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of Oscar and Louise (Van DeVyvere) Engels. She married Gene Maher on September 26, 1945 in Waukesha; he passed away on December 4, 2004. Louise was a homemaker, and farmed with her husband in Irma from 1958 to 1971. She enjoyed reading, photography, writing letters, and birds - especially orioles and hummingbirds. She taught bible studies in Irma for many years. What Louise loved most of all and for always was her family.

Louise is further survived by brother-in-law, Robert Maher, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Carl Van DeVyvere, and sister-in-law Gin Buschmann
Funeral Services for Louise Maher will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in the Town of Skanawan.
