Loyd S. Woller, age 83, of W5770 Robinson Road, Tomahawk, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Golden Living Riverview Nursing Home in Tomahawk following a short battle with leukemia.
Loyd was born on December 4, 1926 in the town of Maine to Sigmund and Adela (Kasten) Woller. He was united in marriage to Dorothea A. Steidinger on October 10, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau. Loyd was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army. He had been a oil distributor in Gleason, Wisconsin, Iron Mountain, Michigan and owned and operated Woller Oil in Owen, Wisconsin from 1966 until his retirement in 1980. He had lived on Lake Nokomis in the Tomahawk area since 1988. Loyd loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, and biking. He and Dorothea had wintered in Weslaco, Texas for the past 22 years.
Survivors include; His wife, Dorothea. One Son, Rhys of Neenah, WI. 3 Sisters, Elsie Jaeger, Eunice (Arlo) Berndt, all of Merrill, Adeline Fandrey of Wausau. 4 Brothers, Amos (Vivian) Woller of Merrill, Robert (Gloria) Woller of Wausau, Clifford (Delores) Woller of Sugar Camp, and David (Donna) Woller of Merrill. Loyd is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers (Raymond, Reuben, Elmer, and Harvey), and a sister, Lorna. Loyd was baptized, confirmed, and now will be buried from his home church, Faith Lutheran Church in the town of Maine on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Burial will follow at the Faith Cemetery South. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
