Lyman "Bud" Kerr, age 78, of N11029 Stone Road, Tomahawk passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at his home.
Bud was born on February 4, 1930 in Highbridge, Wisconsin to the late Hugh and Agnes Kerr. He attended grade school in North York and Highbridge, and graduated from Ashland High School in 1947. He attended Ashland County Normal earning a 2 year degree in teaching.
Bud served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 until 1957 as an aircraft crew chief, stationed in England, Greenland, and Columbus, Ohio. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant and had been a member of American Legion Post 98.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the mines of Northern Minnesota, at American Motors in Milwaukee and at the Job Corps facility in Clam Lake, Wisconsin as a Corpsman Supervisor. On May 17, 1969 he married Janet Friske in Mellen and resided in Clam Lake for 13 years, working for UW Stevens Point Environmental Station as a maintenance supervisor. He transferred to Tomahawk in 1982 where he was the camp manager at Treehaven Field Station and retired in 1993.

Bud is further survived by 4 Grandchildren, Lily and Lane Burke and Landen and Nolan Kerr and many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Kerr.
Memorial Services for Bud Kerr will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 2. A Veterans Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
