Mabel R. Dupee, age 99, passed away May 27, 2009 at Golden Living Center - Golden Age in Tomahawk.
Mabel was born January 4, 1910 in the Town of Richfield, the daughter of G. Thomas and Jennie (Hiller) Harshner. Mabel was raised in the Pittsville area. She married Lester Dupee on January 27, 1934 in Fond du Lac. She and Lester moved from Fond du Lac to Wisconsin Rapids, where they owned and operated a grocery store and gas station. They later moved to Necedah, then back to Fond du Lac, where she worked as an Officer III at the Taycheedah Women's Correctional Facility for 13 years. She was a Tomahawk resident since 1985, and attended the Tomahawk Community Church. She was a member of the Wood County Teachers' Alumni Association.

Mabel is further survived by 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Lester, 1 daughter - Karen, 1 son - Darryl, 1 grandson, and 1 great grandson.
Funeral Services for Mabel Dupee will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from Krueger & Sons Funeral Home in Tomahawk. Pastor Joel Kuhner and Rev. Alex Lindsay will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville.
