Madelyn M. Rowe

Madelyn Mae (Hoeft) Rowe, age 97 of Wausau, and formerly of Minocqua, beloved wife of Albert Rowe, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Madelyn was born in Wausau on July 12, 1923. She married Albert C. Rowe on June 25, 1949…71 years of marriage! Their marriage was blessed with the birth of two children: Richard (Christine) Rowe and Nancy (Ed) Panich.
Madelyn was an expert knitter and was so happy to knit sweaters for herself and others. She created beautiful flower gardens and their yard was once featured in the Wausau paper. She was also a prolific reader and has the entire collection of Nora Roberts books. She and Albert enjoyed ballroom dancing for many years and the one TV show Madelyn couldn’t miss was “Dancing With The Stars”.
Madelyn worked outside the home for many years as the Office Administrator for the Marathon County Highway Department.
Madelyn was a great cook and an amazing friend to so many people. She always took care of family and friends. She would make sure to send birthday cards to everyone.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Minocqua.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by two grandchildren: Jennifer (Mike Swartz) Rowe and Amanda Rowe. And two great grandchildren: Alyssa and Levi.
Memorial Service for Madelyn will take place on Wednesday, June 2nd at 11:00 am at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff, WI with a Memorial Gathering from 10:00 am till time of service. Inurnment will take place at Minocqua Memorial Cemetery.
