Marcia A Martinson

Marcia A Martinson, 68, of Eagle River, Wisconsin, went home to be with the Lord, her Savior, and her mother, from whom she was inseparable in life, on Dec 31, 2013, after becoming seriously ill just over a year ago. She worked for many years in the school system, and during the summers, she and her mother, Lorraine, ran the concession stand at the Silver Lake beach. Marcia loved caring for animals in need, had a great sense of humor and outlook on life, despite the challenges she faced. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her for who she truly was. She is survived by her brother, Michael (Diane) Martinson, niece Julie Rogers all of Highland, Indiana; Cousins and their families: Pat (late Tony) Klister of Waterford, Wisconsin, Butch and Tom Jensen both of Missouri, Sandy (Wayne) Chandler of Texas, René (Gwen) Jensen of Louisiana, David Martinson of Florida; Step sister and brother: Dorothy (Pete) Lund of Wisconsin, Robert Tooper; Aunt Ilene Jensen of Wisconsin/Texas, Uncle Carl Jensen of Wisconsin. Finally, Marcia is survived by her much beloved dog, Carley, who meant the world to her. Marcia was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine Martinson, father and stepmother, Robert and Virginia Martinson, uncles and aunts Norman (Helen) Jensen, Roy (Merle) Jensen, James (Leona) Martinson, Paul (Hazel) Martinson and cousin Larry Jensen. The family would like to thank Marcia's lifelong friend, Kathy Boucher and her husband Jerry for their invaluable assistance during her illness. We would also like to thank the staff at both the Eagle River Memorial Hospital and at Lillian Kerr Nursing Home and Rehab Center. We'd also like to thank all those people we don't know personally, that helped Marcia in any way. Most important to Marcia was the care of her cherished dog Carley, who meant everything to her. We will be forever grateful to Nicole and Rich Bellmore of Northern Wisconsin Canine Center for taking Carley into their home and personal dog pack from the moment she went into the hospital. We can never thank you enough. Following her mother's example, Marcia chose cremation and a private service, which the family will hold in the summer.
