Margaret Beals

Margaret Beals, age 83, 2139 Krystal Kove Road, Tomahawk, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at her residence under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice. Marge was born July 7, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of Fred and Magdalena (Baermann) Pietales. She was a 1949 graduate of Tomahawk High School, and worked at Wisconsin Public Service in Tomahawk before moving to Iowa. Marge was united in marriage to Ralph "Bud" Beals on August 9, 1952 in Newton, Iowa. There she worked at Maytag Company. She then moved to Muscatine, Iowa in 1961. Later in life, after her family was raised, she attended the University of Iowa, graduating with a B.S in nursing in 1986. She and Bud moved back to Tomahawk in 1988, where she was an active volunteer and involved with various civic organizations. She was a Town of Nokomis historian, and authored History of the Town of Nokomis. Marge also enjoyed learning about other cultures and places in the world. Survivors include: husband, Ralph "Bud" Beals, of Tomahawk; sons, Mike (Pat) Beals, of Tomahawk, Randy (Lori) Beals, of Des Plaines, Illinois, Doug (Jackie Firkus) Beals, of Tomahawk. Marge is further survived by two grandsons - Matthew and Timothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers - Louis and Charles, and a sister - Mary. A Celebration of Life for Marge Beals will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Krueger Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM. Memorials are appreciated to Ministry Home Care and Hospice, 1864 N.
