Margaret Loka

Margaret "Marge" Loka, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Golden Living - Riverview Nursing Home, in Tomahawk. Margaret "Marge" Loka was born September 14, 1925, in the town of King to Martin & Alida (Swan) VanderSanden. She was married to John W. Loka on August 17, 1948, in Harrison; John survives. Before coming home to raise her family, Marge attended St. Joseph's Nursing School in Marshfield. She and her husband owned and operated Loka Bay Resort for many years. She loved traveling and casinos, but her greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marge was a longtime member at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk and served on the funeral luncheon committee for many years. Those left to honor Marge's memory are: Husband; John Loka Tomahawk Children; Mike (Leigh) Loka Tomahawk Tom (Sue) Loka Tomahawk Patti (Bill Stead) Darrin Tomahawk Mary (Doug) Balko Cadott John Loka Tomahawk 3 Sisters; Alice Hoogervorst Tinley Park, IL MaryAnn Behling Wausau Bernice (Ron) Anzia Mequon 4 Brothers; Martin (Judy) VanderSanden Tomahawk Tom (Carol) VanderSanden Tinley Park, IL Carl (Leona) VanderSanden Gleason Jack (Dee) VanderSanden Gleason Marge is further survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lorraine Weizenicker, and her grandson, John Darrin. The Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret "Marge" Loka will take place on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 11:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tomahawk. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, at the Krueger Family Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. In honor of her faithful devotion to the Blessed Virgin, there will be a Rosary Service on Sunday evening at 7:00pm. The Visitation will continue on Monday at the church from 10:00am until the time of Mass at 11:00am. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
