Margaret A. VanRyen, age 90, of W6914 County Road O, Tomahawk passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at her home.
Margaret was born on April 15, 1920 in Tomahawk to Joseph and Alice Rell. She married Peter C. VanRyen on April 19, 1944, he passed away in 1989. On April 1, 1991 she married Lawrence Orlowski, he also preceded her in death in 2008. Margaret had attended Lincoln County Normal School and had taught school in the Tomahawk area at both the Jersey City and Bay Mill country schools. She had served as the Bradley Town Clerk for over 24 years and had been a Red Cross Volunteer for many years. She and her husband, Pete enjoyed traveling. Her grandchildren remember her best for being the warm and cozy grandma who decorated special birthday cakes, read stories, taught poems, made the best biscuits and apple pie in the world. She served roast beast and gravy and kept them in line with the shake of a wooden spoon.

7 Grandchildren, Crissy (Brian) Reynolds, Dr. Heather (Mike Schacht) Margaret, Meloniejane, Deb (Jeff) Ingman, Becky (Chester) Jaecks, Tracy Kiefer, and Casey (Kayla) VanRyen.
Margaret is further survived by 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, Son, C. Peter VanRyen, and a grandson, Larry VanRyen.
Funeral Services for Margaret VanRyen will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Krueger Family Funeral Home. Fr. John Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Tomahawk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11.
