Margarete B. Lampe, age 74, formerly of Irma, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Golden Living Center - Riverview in Tomahawk.
Margarete was born July 2, 1938 in Bobenheim-Roxheim, Germany, the daughter of Gottfried and Auguste (Rudisele) Decker. She married Orville Lampe on November 30, 1963 in Dubuque, Iowa; he died in 1992. Margarete was a former waitress in New Mexico and Kenosha. She came to Tomahawk in 1972, where she and Orville owned and operated Birkensee Resort. She loved the resort and all of the people and visitors she encountered. She was very proud of the fact that she became a naturalized United States citizen. Margarete was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk, and enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and had a special love for her dog, Patches.

Margarete is further survived by fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy, Greg, Josh, Anthony, Alyssa, Amanda, Ashley, and Lindsay Lampe, Mitch and Jordan McAllister, Danielle (Seth) Young, Chelsea and Brooke Arnott, and Alex Sievert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and granddaughter, Tabitha.
The Funeral Service for Margarete Lampe will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Schoenherr will officiate. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in the Town of Skanawan.
