MARILYN NELL ZYDZIK
Marilyn N. Zdyzik, 92, lifetime Phillips resident died on Monday, December 5, 2016, at the Aspirus Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips, under the care of Flambeau Home Health Care and Hospice and her family.
She was born on June 13, 1924, in Phillips the daughter of Isaac and Therese (Everson) Brazelton.
She spent her entire life in the Phillips area. She attended and graduated from Phillips, High School, Class of 1940.
She was married to Frank Zdyzik on November 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1969.
She worked on the family farm in her younger years and had various jobs throughout her life including selling insurance for the Phil Scheel Insurance Agency of Phillips after the death of her husband until the time of her retirement.
She was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women of the church, an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary of Phillips, a Gold Star Mother, and was active at election time serving on the Election Board for the Town of Worcester.
In her free time she enjoyed watching sports, bowling, gardening, reading and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Bob) LaPointe, Phillips, by son John, Milwaukee, son James, Phillips, son Jerry (friend Linda) Davenport, Iowa, son Ed (LuAnn) Phillips; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother Allen Brazelton, Eau Claire, Wi., sister Sarah Grover, Milwaukee; sister Dorothy Anderson, Green Bay, Wi., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Frank in 1969, by her son Frank in 1970, and three sisters- Gladys Bauers, Laura Jane Johnson and Arlene Tenut.
A memorial service and a VFW Auxiillary Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 9, 2016, at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, Phillips with Deacon James Celba officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Phillips in the spring.
Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. on Friday, Dec. 9, 2106 at the church until the time of the service.
The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
